THE VAL-JALBERT EPIC

TKNL was commissioned to revive Val-Jalbert’s fascinating history by immersing visitors in the daily lives of its inhabitants, paying tribute to the mill workers, their sacrifices and the community they built together.

Guests travel through three environments, each an immersive experience leading to fragments of history that place them at the very heart of the adventure. First, an exhibition space acts as a testament to the site’s role as a place of work, a place of industrial production inside a company village. Then, two accurate and highly interactive models, depicting both inside and outside views of the mill, focus on its technical and operational aspects. Finally, an immersive multi-sensory show, the crux of the whole experience, brings visitors head to head with the humans that built this epic tapestry. The story unfolds in 360º as wind, rain, snow and heat reinforce the feeling of being at the very heart of the adventure.
