SOCIÉTÉ RÉCRÉOTOURISTIQUE DE DESBIENS

CANADA

ECHO

Operating a striking natural site, the Trou de la Fée cavern park, that already offers myriad activities ranging from whitewater rafting to hiking and a zipline, the Société récréotouristique de Desbiens was looking for an exciting crowd-drawing experience to become a key destination. To achieve this, an ambitious project involving dynamiting a section of the mountain to create a circular stone theater was put in motion, with TKNL handling the large-scale multimedia experience this new venue would host.

Recounting the region’s history, this epic adventure was based on exhaustive archive research and takes the visitor on a wild ride that begins in the ice age, witnesses the birth of life, the first humans, their encounter with European settlers, industrial development in the 19th and 20th centuries, and the infamous 1996 flood!

The show’s striking images make full use of the stone walls, its protrusions and crevices, that bind this poetic tapestry with the natural environment that surrounds it.
