Using cutting-edge technology to help people experience nature is as much a paradox as it is an artistic challenge.

For Design the Future, we eliminated all individual devices: no phones, no tablets, no interactive screens. People were meant to experience the exhibit as they would a nature trail: intuitively, moving freely, changing their vantage point as they see fit. 

 

Standing in the heart of a spectacular sloping projection ring encircling a central column, visitors can reconnect with nature, discover today's environmental challenges, and witness the innovative solutions that nature has inspired. The experience is the core of the Biosphere display and is emblematic of the body, the heart, and the spirit.

 

Our first technical challenge was to develop a system for shooting both in Ultra HD (4K) and in a 360° panorama. Next, to maximize the available space, a circular projection system of 22 projectors, synchronized lighting effects, sensory effects (snow, rain, drizzle, wind) and a 24-channel surround sound system had to be designed.

 

With this completely customized system the viewer is immersed in the exhibit, changing his point of view at will to create a completely new and unique experience.
