UKIUK, or “winter” in Inuktitut, explores the Canadian winter in all its glory. Composed of captivating images, this outdoor winter show is projected on building facades that make up a 280-foot-wide by 95-foot-high screen. In addition to the architectural projections, it includes pyrotechnical effects, spectacular lighting, and haunting music and sounds broadcast in 7.1.
The very graphic treatment of the image, the filming of various characters in silhouette, and the use of visuals that take the building’s architecture into account optimize the surface area for projection purposes.
Designed in an impressionistic style, the sound and light show has no narration. The story and emotions are conveyed by the images, sound effects and music.
