Insiders had been hearing about it for a while, the rumours are now confirmed: Idées au cube (id3) and TKNL, two major players in Montreal’s multimedia game, have just announced they are bringing their activities together under a single banner.
A FORMIDABLE CREATIVE FORCE, ONE OF A KIND IN NORTH AMERICA
Known to the general public for various large-scale productions, such as opening shows for several National Hockey League teams and sound and light shows on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, TKNL and id3 have also made a name for themselves with several award-winning creations for museums, corporate clients and recreational tourism organizations. As its newly appointed vice-president, René Lepire, founder of id3, will be taking over experiential development for the company. He sees this merger as the beginning of a new era: “While we are recognized in our field as content specialists and expert storytellers, TKNL has long had a solid reputation in terms of multimedia creativity and technological excellence. This new force is sure to shake up the market, offering our customers a whole range of new possibilities.”
As the president of the organization, Marc L’Heureux, founder of TKNL, is excited about recent developments. When asked about the creative effervescence brought on by the merger, he offers a clear vision: “Creativity is not strictly the prerogative of the artistic elements. In our work, creativity manifests itself every step of the way, from the actual creative process to technological implementation and logistics. That’s what defines us as a team.” Stéphane Laurin, business development director, sees the merger as a springboard for the new organization: “The consolidation of our complementary strengths and portfolios allows us, more than ever, to create fully integrated, smart, creative and engaging experiences. We are now approaching new markets with a unique formula and an exceptional product. We aim to create an impression in people’s imagination, and by doing so, to make the TKNL brand synonymous with significance and wonder!” From engaging and informative exhibits to prestigious global events, and from immersive happenings to large-scale architectural projections, this merged entity promises to become much more than the sum of its parts.
